MIHATAG og first annual report si Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla!

“..Today, 39 flood control cases are before the courts, 35 in the Sandigan Bayan and 4 in the Regional Trial Courts. Many more are under preliminary investigation and lifestyle checks. Fifty-two are facing these cases.
One sitting senator, one former senator, four congressmen, a former house speaker, a former secretary, and 33 MPs of the DPWH. Eight are contracted and others are private individuals. Some are already in jail while others are still being searched.
Our cases are not decided by trending topics, hashtags, or the loudest comment section. Social media, such as Facebook, has become a source of black propaganda. There are people who pay for comments, for reactions, for fake accounts, so that the voice of the people can be heard.
So to our fellow countrymen, let us not be used. Let us not be fooled by people who pay for comments and reactions. If you want to know the truth, don’t look at the comment section.
Look at the documents. Look at the other cases. Look at the evidence.
To those still hoping that Thai Money and Connections or a paid army online will save them, they will not. The cases are in the courts and we have done the hardest part, building them. The next chapter belongs to the courts.
We expect our courts to be what the Constitution asks of them, impartial, independent, and attuned to the times. And we hope they will see the power they hold, the power to interpret the law,so that it works against those who plunder, not as a shield for them..”
