“..The availability of the naturalized players, the hero of 2023 Justin Brownlee was not able to play this 2026 Japan Asian Games. Because of health situation, he’s had some, it’s not injury concerns, he’s had health concerns. That’s why he’s not playing for Ginebra at this time, why he hasn’t played this conference because he’s had health concerns regarding blood pressure, heart issues.
So he is not able to play at this point. And then the other player was that we expected actually to Ange Kwame, who was one of our heroes in 2023, along with Junmar Fajardo, Ange signed a contract in France. And so he was no longer available, France would not release him to us.
And then, of course, there’s Benny Boatwright, who were, we were waiting for the naturalization papers of Benny Boatwright, and they weren’t completed in time for the submission of lineup. So we couldn’t use Benny. So as it turned out, all of our three naturalized players on the long list were not allowed to play.
So we can use now Benny Boatwright in future qualifiers? We don’t quite have his passport yet, but we are working on his passport. But yes, the naturalization process is finished. He is currently playing in China.
And so we just need him to finish off the requirements. Is that correct, Erica? Yes, sir. We’ve already coordinated with our embassy and consulate in China, where he will take his oath and his passport will be issued, sir..”
