Kadaghanan sa naapektuhan mga gagmay nga sugar cane farmers.
Matud ni United Sugar Producers Federation of the Philippines President Manuel Lamata nga igo ang supply sa asukal bisan sa mubo nga produksyon.
“鈥atamaan talaga tayo ng El Nino nakaraan and during the start of the harvest season kasi po same period last year three weeks of last year we produce 130,000 metric tons of sugarcane. Itong taon pag umpisa namin tatlong linggo three weeks hinarvest po 5,000 tons lang po. Meaning ma iksi yung tubo and it was badly hit by the El Nino. Area natamaan ng El Nino which is Negro occidental and 65 percent of the produced sugar from this island kami pa talaga ang natamaan pero rest assured wala tayong problema sa supply hindi tayo aangkat kayang-kaya ng industry na susupplyin ng Pilipinas…”
