NAKIGHINABI na ang Department of Agriculture kon DA sa mga traders ug uban pa’ng institutional buyers!
Aron sa pag-awhag niini nga paliton ang mga native garlic gikan sa lokal Filipino farmers.
Human nagpadayag sa ilang kabalaka ang mag-uuma gikan sa Batanes ug Occidental Mindoro kalabot sa oversupply nga garlic sa ilang areas bisan pa man nga ila kining gibaligya.
Matud ni DA Undersecretary Kristine Evangelista nga nakapalit na usab ang DA og garlic gikan sa mag-uuma ug gibaligya kini sa affordable prices ubos sa Kadiwa program.
“..we want to encourage more byaheros and more traders encourage our farmers for the reason and sell it here in Metro Manila we have a players in society of which they are the one who buys from our farmers. We have garlic in Ilocos Norte, Pangasinan, Batanes, Mindoro these are the garlic that we sell in Kadiwa if we influence our traders who also sell it to supermarket in palengke then our consumer will have the native garlic but we’re while working on that we have Kadiwa minimizing the traders to be able help our farmers sells directly to the consumers knowing the traders value change we also encourage traders to look into buying native garlic and make it available in supermarket and palengke..”
